Q: What is DSPD?

A: The Division of Services for People with Disabilities (DSPD) fosters opportunities and offers assistance to individuals with disabilities, enabling them to lead self-determined lives. DSPD supervises home and community-based services for over 6,500 individuals with disabilities, encompassing support for community living, day services, and supported employment services.


Q: How can I apply for DSPD Services?

Q: Where can I find my paystub?

A: Paystubs are sent in an email every pay period. 


Q: How much time is available on the budget?

A: The available units on the budget are sent in an email every pay period. 


Q: Why do I have to fill out paperwork?

A: DSPD is a program funded by both the state and federal governments. Consequently, there are forms and processes that are necessary to receive DSPD funding. Additionally, certain essential documents are necessary for processing payroll for you and your employees.


Q: What is my EIN, and how can I find it?

A: An Employer Identification Number (EIN) is employed by the IRS to identify employers' tax accounts. Families participating in the DSPD program are obligated to possess an EIN. If you are an existing participant, you would have received an EIN previously. To retrieve this number, please contact 800-829-4933. New families joining the DSPD program will be assigned an EIN upon submission of the SS4 within the employer packet.


Q: What is EVV?

A: The 21st Century Cures Act, under Section 12006(a), requires states to adopt Electronic Visit Verification (EVV) for all Medicaid Personal Care Services and Home Health Services that involve an in-home visit by a provider. This EVV is usually done through an app on someones smartphone. 


Q: Can you fix my time on Therap?

A: The parent or guardian of the person receiving care has access to adjust your time. Please contact us if further assistance is needed.


Q: I am the parent of the person receiving care, why do I need a background check?

A: In accordance with Utah statute, individuals with direct access to children and/or vulnerable adults must undergo criminal and abuse screenings as mandated.


Q: Why was my background check rejected?

A: All background check's are run by the state of Utah. We do not run the background checks and are not responsible for any results.


Q: How do I get help with my budget?

A: The assigned support coordinator is available to assist you in managing your budget. 


Q: Do you only run payroll for the DSPD program?
